Bishops

Moving,
like two bishops.
Close in proximity.
Apart infinitely.

Come,
a bit closer.
Breathe a little slower.
Look a little harder,
and see.

Losing (a) heart
but won't lose the soul.
Sometimes, want to follow.
The path is too narrow,
and falling.

I like your first stanza. Nice analogy!

I'm not so fond of chess rules, however many times i am re-taught...so can a bishop never take out the other bishop?

Proximity is unavoidable like synonymous chess board. But i'm refusing to believe that just because people are shoved into the same room do they need to fall for each other. Because then, where's the affinity!

Black bishop can't take out white bishop and vice versa.
Affinity is a spectrum ie. low affinity/high affinity. You dun hav to fall for the other person in the room if there really is no affinity. But I think you've mistaken no affinity for low affinity, which given enough time, the atoms will form the compound.

'...just because people are shoved into the same room do they need to fall for each other.' This is affinity. Most ppl have it. The question is...Low or high
